  • Best players of all time!

Many have tried and failed but I think that I have done it.

    ss-3
    of-10

This took me the better part of the day to compile. I'm sure I missed someone and if I do, please point it out

If you feel I left out someone that should be on, please lmk the player and why.

    I'd add -

HOYT WILHELM - P - he was the 1st to pitch in 1000+ games
BILL TERRY - 1B he was the last NATIONAL LEAGUE player to hit .400 in a season (1930)
EDDIE MURRAY - 1B - in my opinion he's better than McCOVEY, more RBI's
CHARLEY GEHRINGER - 2B - one of the greatest A L second basemen of all time
MICKEY COCHRANE - C - he must have been great MICKEY MANTLE was named after him
    PIE TRAYNOR - 3B - a great hitting & defensive player

The main items Im looking to trade for are

        SS- Alex Rodriguez
        OF- Barry Bonds

I dont believe Jim Rice is close to one of the greatest of all time, he was good in his era, but his numbers dont suggest greatest of all time

            382 HRs, 1451 RBIS .298 BA

If he gets in we should be prepared to put Al Kaline in there who had 399 HRs and 1583 RBIs with a career .297 BA as well, but i dont believe Kaline is one of the greatest either

All of them were in there but I just couldn't cut there competition. Wilhelm was the last pitcher eliminated I believe and I'm very close to replacing McCovey with Murray.

Nope...no roids on my list...plus I think Pujols is better than A-rod and I left him off

Well, I think I would put him at second base and I would have to get rid of Honus Wagner, Ryne Sandberg, and Rogers Hornsby. I simply couldn't do it.

Pete Rose has the most hits ever for a position player, if that doesnt get you on the list i dont know what does, he certainly was better than Sandberg

Musial was predominantly an OF'er and was moved to first late in his career... I would put Murray in there...

I strongly disagree with your pitching assesment.. Steve Carlton and Tom Seaver should be over Lefty Grove, Nolan Ryan and Whitey Ford

Sorry Cubsfanil... Joe Morgan over Ryno in a landslide...he was the key to several world series winners and league mvp twice I think. I would go Ryno over Jackie Robinson. His contribution to the game was huge, but he didnt have career longevity in comparison.

Ernie Banks over Ozzie is an easy call... the guy has over 500 HR's and was a two time league mvp

3b should be Eddie Mathews over Brooks Robinson... Brooks had a great glove and I met him twice and he is a great guy... but Eddie is the man.. the arguement of who is the greatest 3b of all time is between he and Schmidt.

OF is the hardest call... Reggie Jackson, Carl Yastrzemski, and Barry Bonds could all be in the mix

Relief Pitcher: gimme Goose Gossage over Trevor Hoffman any day
