Reds announce Bruce's $51M, 6-year deal (AP)

[The Question]

The Cincinnati Reds have officially announced right fielder Jay Bruce's six-year contract. The deal Tuesday is said to be worth $51 million. The contract includes a club option for the 2017 season. The 23-year-old Bruce hit .281 with 25 home runs and 70 RBIs for the NL Central champions. Bruce says he took a long-term deal for several reasons, adding he likes the direction the Reds are headed.
