  • With Baseball starting in 3 weeks..

Its time for me to reflect on the greatest/oddest part of the 2010 season for the Detroit Tigers.

It was an easy choice, Brennan Boesch. Carlos Guillen gets injured (again) and Brennan Boesch gets the call up, and proceeds to go on a HUGE tear. Never in my life have I seen something as crazy as the hot streak Boesch was on.

Most Tigers fans remember Chris Shelton, but he only was on his tear for 3 weeks. Boesch did it from the time he got called up on April 23rd until half way through July.

To put it in perspective, at the allstar break, he qualified for the batting title and was 5th in the AL at a .342 average. He also got snubbed of an allstar game appearance after missing almost 1 month of the season due to being in the minors.

Then the allstar break came and Boesch went ice cold for the rest of the year and now faces the challenge to make the 25 man roster..

It may of been a fluke deal, but it was one of the craziest things i've ever seen in Baseball and may ever see. Hopefully Boesch does well this season though. I'll be rooting for him

I remember Chris Shelton from a few seasons ago. He hit like 12 home runs in the first month or something like that. I remember picking him up on my fantasy team because my 1B (Derrek Lee or Lance Berkman I think) was injured. Someone offered me a good closer in return for him and I quickly accepted that offer. LOL!

I know its only 4 games in the season for the Tigers, but Brennan Boesch's early start has already put Ryan Raburn back on the bench (which makes me happy)

I'm not sure if lightning will strike twice, but if it does, it'll add to the crazy story of Boesch's young career.

I'd like to see Brennan Boesch hold onto that starting position. I remember watching Brennan play for the West Michigan Whitecaps a few years ago. Its nice to see former Whitecaps doing well with the Tigers.

So far the Tigers pitching is scaring me a bit though...

The amazing story that is Brennan Boesch..

The last day of April is here and Boesch is hitting .340+ and tied for 3rd in the AL in batting average, couldnt be more happy for Boesch.

And one day before the allstar break, we now have the Legend that is Brennan Boesch.

In 83 games played this season Boesch is hitting .306 .362 OBP .494 SLG 12 HRs and 43 RBI with 57 runs scored.

Boesch is on pace for 101 runs scored and 21 HRs with 77 RBI

Will be interesting to watch Boesch the 2nd half of the seaosn.
