Blue Jays Designate Utility man Juan Rivera for Assignment

This might have been the worst birthday ever for Blue Jays 1B-DH-OF Juan Rivera. Rivera was Designated for assignment after sunday's game against the Phillidelphia Phillie's, Rivera was 0-3 with 2 strike-outs and an RBI. The Jays have 10 days to trade, waive, or release Rivera before he is sent to the minors. The jays called up outfielder Travis Snider to take the roster spot. The Jays designated Jayson Nix for assignment Saturday, they called up Mike "The Journeyman" McCoy from triple-A Las Vegas to take that roster spot. On the postgame show, Mike Wilner commented on Rivera and Corey Patterson "One of them had to go and when you round it all up Patterson can do more things for the ball club." Snider will start in right field on Monday.

Looks to me that Wells has been better in the power stats, HR RBI and Runs, and they are pretty even on OBP and OPS(both of their numbers suck). Wells has been better but it is still pretty weak.
