  • Ervin Santana No-hitter

Ervin Santana has no-hit the cleavland indians. It's a funny no-hitter cause Santana gave up a run in the angels victory. It was the third no-hitter this year, all have been in the american league.

5 errors by the Tribe also.

Ship is sinking faster than the Titanic....and Antonetti is just sitting back and watching a team turn a 7-game lead in the division into another 4th place finish. Hope he's proud.

Santana throws no-hitter, Angels win 3-1 (AP)

Ervin Santana pitched the first solo no-hitter for the Angels in nearly 27 years, striking out 10 and leading Los Angeles over the Cleveland Indians 3-1 Wednesday. Santana allowed only two runners -- there was an error on the leadoff batter in the first inning and a walk in the eighth. Santana (6-8) was in complete control while throwing the Angels' first complete-game no-hitter since Mike Witt...

Without the error (which led to a run) and his one walk, it would have been a perfect game. He only had 1 walk, not 3-5.

Angels' Pitcher Ervin Santana Throws a No-Hitter Against the Cleveland Indians

In an early game today in Cleveland, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitcher Ervin Santana tossed the first complete no-hitter for the Angels in nearly 27 years. How close was he to a perfect game? Santana allowed only two runners. The first batter up for the Indians, Ezequiel Carrera, reach first base on a fielding error by Angels’ shortstop, Erick Aybar and in the eighth inning, Cleveland’s Lonnie Chisenhall was walked.

The final score of the game was the Angels 3 – the Indians 1. Yes... the Indians were held to 0 hits but they score in the first inning after Carrera stole second base, advanced to third base on a ground out and scored on, of all things, a wild pitch by Ervin Santana.

Other than the wild pitch, Santana’s control was excellent as he struck out 10 on his way to the “No No.” It only took 106 tosses to the plate for the Angels’ pitcher to complete the game, 76 of which were strikes.

The last time the Angels had a no-hitter was when pitchers Mark Langston, who threw for 7 innings, and Mike Witt, who threw for 2, combined on a no-hitter on April 11, 1990, in a 1-0 win against the Mariners. The previous complete game no-hitter for the Angels was when Mike Witt pitched a perfect game on Sept. 30, 1984.

Ervin Santana Throws First Career No-Hitter

Ervin Santana threw his first career no-hitter against the Cleveland Indians. It's the ninth no-hitter in Angels history.

Ervin is the sixth Dominican player to throw a no-hitter. The other 5 Dominican players to throw a no-hitter: Juan Marichal, Ramón Martinez, José Jimenez, Ubaldo Jiménez, Francisco Liriano. (Via Beto Duran)

Ervin Santana (10 starts) had never defeated the Cleveland Indians before this no-hitter. He only walked one batter and struckout 10 batters. He gave up an unearned run in the bottom of the 1st inning. Ezequiel Carrera reached based on an error by Erick Aybar and later scored on a wild pitch.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim won 3-1.

But he never "almost" had a perfect game... that was ruined after the very first batter.

Armando Galarraga almost had a perfect game
