  • Delmon Young traded to the Tigers

OFFICIAL_TIGERS Tigers acquire Delmon Young from Twins for Cole Nelson and a player to be named later. #tigers
Straight out of left field, NEVER saw this coming, quite shocked to be honest.

I know Delmon Young is having a bad year, but had a great year last year and nothing much was given up.

Looks like Ordonez should probably be getting DFA'd

            Suprisingly is an upgraded.

            .223 BA .280 OBP .295 SLG
            .266 BA .305 OBP .357 SLG

Even if Delmon hit the rest of the way .275, .340 OBP and .400 SLG, it'd be a ton better than what Magglio has done this year.

            (just trying to be positive)

Boy....those are two absolutely HORRIBLE stat lines for guys hitting 3rd.

              Love me some Leyland

Yea..Its not like Peralta, Avila or Boesch have good numbers or anything

This reason is why I hate Leyland, whoever hits in front of Miggy will most likely do better than where they hit elsewhere, so why not put a guy like Avila in the 3 spot, get him some "protection" in the order and see what he can do? Can leave him hitting 8th forever (although Leyland would probably do that)

Twins trade OF Young to Tigers (AP)

The Detroit Tigers got some help for their outfield Monday, acquiring Delmon Young from the division rival Minnesota Twins for a minor league pitcher and a player to be named. Young doesn't have far to go to join his new team. The Twins are in Detroit to open a series against the Tigers at Comerica Park.

                      Ordonez didn't get DFA'd

He's hitting 7th tonight, Boesch should be back playing tommorow, Leyland said Boesch will be the everyday right fielder, Young will play left field, Ordonez will ride the pine

Twins get Oliveros to finish Young trade (AP)

The Minnesota Twins have completed their trade with the Detroit Tigers by acquiring right-hander Lester Oliveros. The Twins announced the move on Tuesday, one day after sending outfielder Delmon Young to the Tigers for minor league left-hander Cole Nelson and a player to be named later. That player is Oliveros, who has appeared in nine games for the Tigers this season.
