  • Rays vs Red Sox, Who wins the AL Wildcard?

With 10 games left for both teams, who do you believe wins the AL wildcard spot for the postseason?

Keep in mind if a game 163 is needed, the Rays would have homefield due to winning the season series vs Boston.

I believe the Rays will win the wildcard, Boston just isn't pitching well at all and I can't see the Sox being able to stop the bleeding.

No way the Sox lose it. 7 of their last 10 are against Baltimore, while 7 of Tampa's last 10 are against the Yankees.

You know it's possible that the Yankees may be the WILDCARD, or maybe (slim but possible) even out of it and the Red Sox and Rays in. The last ten games can be very interesting with the Rays and Yankees playing seven against each other, and the same with Boston v. the "Birds". If the "Birds' play like they have in the last week, minus yesterday, Boston is in trouble. In fact Red Sox fans may be starting to root for the Yankees, or for either the Yankees or Rays to sweep the other in ALL seven games. It is definitely looking interesting in the A L East.

Also, there is a slim chance that the Tigers can end up being the #1 seed in the A L playoffs. However, they also have the "Birds" in their way. And the "Birds" have been (again, minus yesterday) playing some really good ball lately.

the blue jays hold tampa bay's playoff fate, if the "northern birds" sweep the rays the bo sox can jump on the oppertunity playing the more "sourthen birds" 7 games

Big day today - if the Rays beat the Blue Jays and the Sox drop both to the Yankees then it's all square

I guess the big question is, with home field advantage now secured, will the Yankees rest a few players in their last series vs the Rays (and possibly help to ensure the Red Sox don't make the wildcard slot)?

You know the answer to the "?" in the title is very easy - the team with the MOST WINS.
It is getting interesting. Everyone have a good evening.

Like Yogi Berra said "it ain't over 'til it's over". These WILDCARD chases sure are making the last few regular season games interesting.
