    Phillies Agree to Deal with Jonathan Papelbon

    The Phillies have agreed to sign Jonathan Papelbon, according to Jim Salisbury of CSNPhilly.com (on Twitter). The agreement is pending a physical. The Phillies appeared to have a deal with Ryan Madson earlier this week, but talks fell through and the sides didn't complete the rumored four-year, $44MM deal.

    That will really leave a great big hole in the RED SOX bullpen.

    Vintage Orioles I need 1950s through 1970
    However other offers will be considered

      Reports have it as a 4 year $50 million contract. Obviously Papelbon was a better choice than Madson for the high price tag. Huge blow to Red Sox, but now I can see Boston going after Madson or Bell.

          Bard stepping in would be the cheap route for the BoSox but I don't know if he is ready. As I recall, I think he blew 3 saves in September.

              Sorry Woody but the BoSoxs will be rebuilding and now really need a closer!
