Phillies acquire Wigginton in trade with Rockies

The Philadelphia Phillies have acquired utilityman Ty Wigginton and cash from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for a player to be named later or cash.

Good pickup for the Phillies. I dont get this though. So the Rockies trade Wiggington and cash to the Phillies for either a PTBNL or cash. So technically the Phillies could give back the same cash the Rockies gave them in the first place and basically got Ty for free? LOL!

Phils are getting concerned about production and health of Polanco. All in all, a pretty safe move for the Phillies.

as a Rockies fan, we would have paid anyone to take Wigginton, he is terrible in the field and one of the worst hitters with RISP that I have ever seen. Jim Tracy made him seem worse by playing in the outfield, but I am very glad he is no longer on my team.
