Well there goes yet another Angels backup plan signing. I think they are now on Plan F after no Halladay, Lee, Vazquez, Bay, or Holliday.

Why would the Angels go after Bay?

They have Matsui, Matthews Jr, Hunter, Rivera, Abreu

The Angels should have went after Bay or Holliday instead of signing Matsui. Hunter and Abreu are mainstays, but they should try to trade Rivera for some starting pitching. And lets just forget that Matthews is on the Angels.

No I meant that the Angels are not going to attempt to get him since they dont want to pay him $18+ million per season, but would rather pay Matthews $10+ million a season to sit on the bench.

But the Mets made a nice signing with Jason Bay. They really need the offensive help. Plus if Escobar can stay healthy, he is a decent starting pitcher.
