The Diamondbacks have signed outfielder Jason Kubel, tweets Tom Krasovic. Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports confirms the agreement, which is for two years with an option. Jon Heyman of CBS Sports says the deal is worth $15MM.

I personally don't understand it from the Dbacks perspective. They didn't need an outfielder, especially one with health issues and can't play defense well to begin with. He'll bring offense, but his upside isn't great in the NL

the clubhouse presence and leadership is there. he can play first decently and is a adequate of

Interesting.... as noted on the Dbacks site, they might be thinking to use Kubel in left, moving G. Parra into a backup outfieldier position. Upton and Young are solid in center and right field.....Parra had a great season last year and can play all three outfield positions, making him an excellent backup for all outfield starters......or he could be used in a trade to beef up another position.
Although I'd hate to see Parra go....he had MANY key hits/RBI's last year!
