Victor Martinez Torn ACL; Likely Done for the Season

Jason Beck just reported Victor Martinez tore his ACL and if he needs surgery he is likely done for the season.

According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports Martinez injured his knee in winter conditioning.

The Tigers signed Martinez to a 4 year contract after the 2010 season and in his first season with the Tigers, Martinez hit .330 with 12 Home Runs and 103 RBI. He also bat behind Miguel Cabrera.

With Martinez likely done for the season it leaves a huge gap for the Tigers, who were favorites to win the American League Central in 2012.

I made my blogpost about 3 minutes after I first heard the news yesterday, was just waiting on Kerwin lol.

They'd never get Manny though. He's not good anymore and he has a 50 game suspension to serve still, so it would be pointless to sign him.

Yea, it makes sense, but I don't like that he has a really bad OBP. We already have Delmon Young and his sub 300 OBP. 2 guys with horrid OBPs would be awful.

That was one reason I liked seeing him get traded. Should have gotten rid of him before the season started though, could have gotten more for him then.
