id love to know just what in the hell Kenny Williams is doing with this signing, this is only going to retard the development of guys like Jared Mitchell and John Danks even longer if they dont give the younger kids a shot to develop at the ML level

????Mitchell I can understand what you are talking about. Danks, though is a SP and a very good one for the Sox. How is this slowing down his (Danks) developement?

Alright cool, didn't know he has a brother playing for them also. Didn't Mitchell miss all of last season with a severe ankle injury?

I think I remember something about that, if he did maybe he is recovering to slow. This way he can take his time coming back and not screw it up some more.

my point,is why bring in Kosuke when u have guys like this in your system who've done very well who are just crying for some playing time in the majors so they can show wether they belong or not, surely theyre hungrier than Fukudome is

I am not discounting that point. I was just saying that if he is recovering from a major injury why rush him? Have him slowly come back to full strength, then let him rip. He is just a stopgap until Mitchell is fully healthy. I wanted the Twins to sign him when they drafted him a few years ago.

the Sox also have Kenny Williams son in AA i believe,so its not like theyre hurting for OF prospects, its just Kenny and Jerry The Jackass are avoiding the term "rebuild" like the plague, theyd rather go the Angels or Moneybags(Yankmes) route to contend, which i disagree with,id rather see a 50/50 split in the makeup of the team, rather than go the extreme of the '91 Astros, who had 20+ rookies on the roster on opening day,or the Yankees, with 85% of the roster bought on the free agent market

I keep waiting for these big signings we need (Pitching, Power Hitter, Etc.) but all I hear are players leaving. I have a feeling that it's going to be a long while before the Cubbies will make the playoffs again. The Life of a Cubs Fan and a Bud Man!!! Maybe next year.

Cornwell,id wait till 2014-2015 before u guys're ready to contend, from the sound of things, thats what Epstein/Hoyer are shooting for

Cubs should be able to contend in about 2 years after this total rebuild by Theo...plus with the Cards losing Pujols and the Brew Crew losing Fielder it only helps us out..
