I've posted those words in a thread a few times myself. I have always recieved help from someone on the site and have greatly appreciated the help.
I was wondering how many of our members need this kind of help and if there would be any intrest in maybe adding this as a seperate forum, like the AUCTION BLOCK one.
One of the Ideas that popped in my wee mass of grey matter. was to ask for volunteers to be the price checkers.
Those of us who would like to recieve the service could sign up and maybe help off set the cost of the volunteers OLPG subscription. Instead of feeling like a mooch off of the folks who currently do this on their on time & dime, (no one who has helped me has ever asked for anything in return, not even a thank you).
Any ideas that might make this a reasonable venture are solicitied, Pro or con.
Some of the issues I think that would need to be addressed,
How many Price Checkers needed
How many Price checks allowed per inquiry
How long each contribution would be good for
how much would the contibution be
what to do with any excess funds accumulated
elgibility requirements to be come a checker
The big issues. This is a Free Site governed only by the HONESTY of our members, how does offering a contributory service impact the core principles of our trading site.
Are their issues with using a subscrition OLPG for one/several of our members here and then their using that OLPG to diseminate information obtained to our members
A forum of this type would be a great help to me personally, I'm not "Computer Savay". Having access to a ready and reliable OLPG source would improve my online trading.
As an example 2012 Topps Baseball is already available at an OLPG, the new beckett just came out but the pricing info didn't make it in time for the current issue, so a month will pass before that resource becomes available. 12 Topps went on sale in early Feb and as with any commodity the trading is quite heavy before the printed info becomes available. Having the service proposed would be an asset for many.
looking forward to any comments offered tx bob
PLEASE don't call me a MORON, thats the "PET NAME" my wife calls me and I don't want to spoil her fun, or her to cut off my funding lol
