  • Joba Chamberlain Injured On Trampoline

Girardi confirms Chamberlain injured on trampoline - MLB - Yahoo! Sports

Another player who is possibly out for the season. That makes 3 players in a 3 day span. Reports have it that Joba may be out either for a few months or possibly the whole season. Yankees probably should have traded him when he had some trade value and every team wanted him.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi confirmed that reliever Joba Chamberlain dislocated his right ankle on a trampoline. There is no official timetable for Chamberlain’s return.

This injury could threaten his career based on some reports. Most reports have it as an open dislocation and I read on MLB Trade Rumors that he had lost a life-threatening amount of blood.

Years ago, I had a trampoline accident. My neck hit the steel bracket and I bounced head first onto the ground. Luckily, I didn't break anything but it hurt like hell for a few days. It wasn't my fault though, because I drank a lot of really crappy beer that day. I leave you all with some excellent advice. Never drink Busch beer, while bouncing on a 10 year old kid's trampoline at 11:00 a.m. Actually, stay away from Busch all together. It was free, but still not worth it!

I hope Joba recovers quickly, though. This is scary.

I think this may hurt any chances of Joba going to another team if the Yanks need to trade him

If he struggles to return to form, I could see the Yankees giving him the Chien-Ming Wang treatment. That would be letting him spread his wings in free agency. I hope it doesn't come to that because it looked as if he was returning to his old form out of the bullpen last year before the Tommy John surgery. I just wish him the best in his recovery from both injuries.

I can't believe players would risk their career by doing things like jumping on a trampoline...

When I heard this, it almost made me sick to my stomach. An 'open wound dislocation' is not something I would ever wish on ANYONE. It just sounds gruesome.
