    Another closer bites the dust. Geez way too many closers getting injured before the season really starts.

    As planned, the Boston Red Sox will have a new closer to open the season. It just won’t be Andrew Bailey.

    The Red Sox announced Tuesday that Bailey will have surgery on his right thumb, likely ruling him out for most of the season.

    “I don’t think it will be before the All-Star break—is what the trainer told me,” manager Bobby Valentine said when asked for a timetable for Bailey’s return.

    I unfortunately can no longer afford to trade outside the US. Even rates to Canada are way too high now!

            Just add him to the list....

            Bailey (as stated by you guys, I concur)
            Crawford (they paid him too much money)
            Dice K (see Crawford above)
            Lackey (although, this injury is kind of welcome, I mean, they are probably happy enough to just pay him however many millions to sit on the bench and breathe heavy)
            Beckett (cuz we know his injury will at the very least affect him psychologically)

              Bailey is fragile
              Crawford is due for a big year
              Dice K all Japanese pitchers should be taken with caution
              Lackey who knows what happened
              Beckett fragile psysche


              but Boston thought they had to keep pace with the Yanks, you get what you pay for.

                When Lackey pitched for the Angels, he was always terrible when he visited Fenway.

                    God they are destined for 4th place. I mean bad enough they have been holding down 3rd like a champ
