For the NL, I voted for guys I'd want to see (such as Tulowitzki, Stanton) but if there was nobody I cared much for (like at 1st base) I went with the guy who had the best stats to this point.

MLB has gone "crazy". It is way too EARLY to be casting VOTES for ALL-STARS 2012 !!! The season is ONLY 2 WEEKS old !!!!! If they're allowing this, then let's end the season and begin the playoffs and World Series. By doing this there could be several having a GREAT season who don;t make the ALL STAR team.
