  • Tigers Offense Still Sleeping in a 2-1 Loss

The Detroit Tigers lost to the Seatte Mariners tonight 2-1.

The Tigers had a tough time getting runners on base today, but they got things going in the 6th inning after a leadoff double by Gerald Laird followed up by a bloop single by Danny Worth. Next up was Austin Jackson who hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game.

Drew Smyly pitched very well once again tonight going 6 innings giving up 2 hits, 2 walks, 1 run and striking out 5 batters; Smyly ended with a no decision. Luke Putkonen pitched a scoreless 7th inning, but for some reason came out for the 8th inning and gave up a run, which was the game winning run.

The Tigers open a 4 game road series vs Oakland tommorrow and it starts with Max Scherzer taking the mound against Bartolo Colon.

If the bats ever come alive with the starts they are getting (at least from the limited games I have seen) so far I could be off they should roll

Everyone in the rotation lately is starting to get on a roll, i'm just tired of the offense. Almost everyone is pressing.

They should come around soon. It's a strong team.
