    NEW YORK -- The New York Yankees acquired right-handed reliever Chad Qualls from the Philadelphia Phillies, the team announced Sunday.

    The Yankees will trade a player to be named later or cash to the Phillies in exchange for the 33-year-old veteran.

    Yep - the fire is starting. I expect Wiggington, Blanton, and Juan Pierre to be gone too.

    Their farm system has taken a beating with the acquisitions of Halladay, Pence, Lee, and Oswalt. Time to restock. The run has been good, but all good things must come to an end.

      Phillies still have some good talent in their farm system. None of the players given up in those trades have done anything anyways in the majors yet.

        Qualls was DFA'd, besides, he wasn't any good lol

          Oh no not him...I thought the Yankees were gonna make a run at WS. Guess adding pitching like that means they are not.
          Always looking for Gary Carter, Carlton Fisk, Nolan Ryan, Yogi Berra.
