  • What are your Biggest Surprises & Disappointments of the First Half?

What are the biggest surprises and disappointments of the first half for you? In regards to a team and/or player?

For me, the biggest surprise as far as individual players would have to be the emergence of Bryce Harper and Mike Trout. I thought both would be great players eventually, but didn't expect this big of an impact. I also am surprised at the season Austin Jackson is having. He's 3rd in the AL in OPS. Never expected this out of him.

Biggest surprise for a team would probably be the Mets. I expected them to be a 90 loss team, but they are holding their own.

Biggest disappointment for players would be Tim Lincecum by far. I don't think anyone expected him to be this bad. Also Adrian Gonzalez has been very disappointing.

Biggest disappointment for teams are easily the Phillies and Tigers. Both top 5 (I think) in payroll. The Phillie season is essentially over, since they're over 10 games back in the NL East and last in their division, and the Tigers are only a game over .500.

My BEST SURPRISE so far is that the PIRATES,NATIONALS, & ORIOLES are in contention, and if they continue they ALL will make the playoffs in October. My BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT is that the Yankees are on top of the A L East.

The main items Im looking to trade for are
    Baseball HOFers Autos I need
    Orioles Autos I need
    Baseball HOFers GU I need
    Orioles GU I need
    Vintage Orioles I need 1950s through 1970
However other offers will be considered

Agree with Rodney - Biggest surprises are Pirates, Nationals, and Orioles. Also how good Mike Trout and R.A. Dickey are doing.

Disappointment is how Albert Pujols did in his first month.

        Add these to the list.

        Surprises

        Pirates atop the NL Central.

A.J. Burnett - 10 Wins, 2 Losses, and a 3.68 ERA for the Pirates after the Yanks dumped him. LOL!

Trevor Plouffe - Never heard of this person, but he has 19 Home Runs for the Twins.

Edwin Encarnacion - 23 Home Runs and 58 RBIs.

        Fernando Rodney - 25 Saves and a 0.93 ERA

Jake Peavy - Back to his NL form after two injury filled seasons. 7 Wins and a 2.85 ERA.

Adam Dunn - Even though he is batting .208, at least he is better than last year. Has 25 Home Runs and 61 RBIS.

        Disappointments

Tim Lincecum - 3 Wins, 10 Losses, and a 6.42 ERA. Thank goodness I didnt draft him this year.

I am surprised with these 2 players especially considering what teams they pitch for. As of today, their stats are

          R.A. Dickey - 14 Wins, 2 Losses, 2.83 ERA, & 147 Ks for a Knuckleballer
          A.J. Burnett - 12 Wins, 3 Losses, & a 3.52 ERA
