Cole Hamels Rumors: Monday: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

•The negotiations are reaching a “sensitive” stage, ESPN.com’s Jerry Crasnick reports. The Phillies, who have offered Hamels a six-year deal in the $127.5MM range, must save themselves a window to discuss trades in case they can’t agree to terms with Hamels on an extension.

•The Cardinals could be a suitor for Hamels if he reaches free agency, Crasnick writes. Hamels' wife is from Missouri.
    ---
I think the Phillies will end up trading him, at this point I can't see Hamels not testing free agency.

Giants Interested In Chris Perez: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

The Giants are interested in Indians closer Chris Perez, Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports report. The Indians, 47-48 after losing four consecutive games, are not planning a massive overhaul in the next week, since they intend to contend in 2013. Yet the Indians constantly gauge trade interest in their roster and could move established players strategically before the end of the month.

If the Indians trade Major Leaguers such as Perez and Shin-Soo Choo, they’d look to obtain players who could strengthen their current team, Rosenthal and Morosi report. GM Chris Antonetti has been monitoring the trade market for a starting pitcher and a right-handed bat.

Rosenthal & Morosi On Brewers, Victorino, Twins: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

•The Brewers are not ready to declare themselves sellers, but after losing three straight games to the Reds over the weekend Milwaukee is moving in that direction, Rosenthal reports. “We’ve put ourselves in a position where it’s a tough hill to climb,” GM Doug Melvin acknowledged. The Rangers, Angels, Braves and Nationals are among the teams that have shown some level of interest in Zack Greinke, according to Rosenthal. The 44-50 Brewers could also trade Randy Wolf, Francisco Rodriguez and George Kottaras, among others.

•The Phillies and Dodgers have discussed Shane Victorino, Morosi reports (on Twitter). However, there’s no momentum toward a deal at this point.

•The Twins haven’t put Josh Willingham on the trade market yet, but he’s in high demand, Morosi reports (on Twitter).

•The Twins are inclined to listen to trade offers for Francisco Liriano, because they could obtain power arms for the future by completing a deal, Morosi reports.
        --
Twins would be smart to trade Liriano and Willingham, they could probably get a nice return on Willingham, and getting something for Liriano is better than nothing.

I'm all for idiot Perez getting dealt, but trading Choo really makes no sense. If you trade him, you're basically admitting that this team is ready to rebuild.......AGAIN.

Rosenthal On Marlins, Ichiro, Rangers, Pence: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

•Hanley Ramirez could be the next player traded, Rosenthal reports. The Marlins tried to send the third baseman to Boston last week and they’re still open to moving him.

•The Marlins figure to shop Heath Bell aggressively, even though he’s just four months into a three-year contract.

•Teams covet Josh Johnson, who’s under contract for 2013.

•Ichiro Suzuki is “a lot better than you think” once you take defense and baserunning into consideration, one executive tells Rosenthal. The Yankees acquired the veteran outfielder from Seattle yesterday.

•The Rangers would love to obtain a top-of-the-rotation starter, but they believe they could address their rotation issues internally if necessary. Cole Hamels will be atop the Rangers’ list of potential targets if the Phillies don’t re-sign him.

•The Phillies are indicating to other teams that they’re eager to move Hunter Pence. The right fielder will remain under team control through 2013, when he’s expected to obtain a raise and earn $13-14MM.
Fire sale for the Marlins! Where have I seen that before?

Orioles Have Inquired On Polanco, LaHair, Headley: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

The Orioles have been making calls to other teams in search help at their corner infield positions, and Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun reports that they've made calls specifically regarding Placido Polanco, Bryan LaHair and Chase Headley.

General manager Dan Duquette is in search of a high on-base percentage who can hit near the top of the Orioles' batting order. An industry source cautioned Connolly in telling him that the O's talks regarding the trio have been preliminary.

Im not quoting anything official, but the Cardinals have tossed top prospect, Shelby Miller, out as trade bait. Miller was considered off limits in the past but with recent troubles, the Cardinals may be ready to move him. If this is the case, then a Cole Hamels deal might be possible. I don't think the Cardinals would trade him within their division because if Miller ever gets it together and lives up to the hype, watch out!

Josh Johnson Rumors: Wednesday: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

•The Rangers are one of the teams actively pursuing Johnson, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports. They'd be willing to trade top prospect Mike Olt for Johnson, Nightengale writes.

•There’s a 50-50 chance the Marlins move Johnson, MLB.com’s Joe Frisaro reports (on Twitter). The Marlins are holding out for a great offer.

•There should be a “feeding frenzy” for Johnson, an executive tells Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com (on Twitter).

•The Rangers would like to add an elite starter and ESPN.com’s Buster Olney suggests they’ll pursue Johnson. The Rangers could also ask about Cliff Lee and Zack Greinke, Olney writes.
                  --
