  • Tigers Struggle to Score Runs in a 3-2 Loss

The first place Detroit Tigers lost to the Cleveland Indians tonight 3-2.

The Tigers offense struggled to do anything through the first 6 innings today, and found themselves down 2-0, but in the 7th inning, after a 2 out walk from Quintin Berry, Miguel Cabrera hit a 2-run home run to tie the game 2-2; it's his 24th of the season.

After Travis Hafner somehow hit a triple (yea, that really happened), the Indians scored on a ridiculous squeeze play to take a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Doug Fister wasn't at his best tonight, but wasn't terrible. He pitched 7 innings giving up 3 runs on 9 hits, walking 1 and striking out 4 batters.

Phil Coke came in and pitched a scoreless 8th inning.

The Tigers had plenty of base runners tonight, but just didn't get the big hit to score some runs.

The Tigers continue their series with Cleveland tommorrow as Max Scherzer (9-5 4.61 ERA) takes on Derek Lowe (8-8 5.04 ERA).
