Orioles beat Red Sox 6-3, clinch playoff berth - Yahoo! Sports

    Congrats to the Orioles!!!

BALTIMORE (AP) -- The champagne was on ice, plastic shields were in place above the cubicles in the Baltimore clubhouse and couches were removed to accommodate a celebration 15 years in the making.

The party never happened - at least not at the ballpark after the Orioles beat Boston 6-3 Sunday.

Baltimore ultimately clinched its first playoff berth since 1997, but not until late Sunday when the Texas Rangers beat the Los Angeles Angels 8-7 in the finale of a day-night doubleheader.

The Orioles are assured a wild-card berth, but they're looking to get into the postseason as AL East champions. Upon arriving in Tampa area, where the Orioles open a season-ending series at the Rays on Monday night, manager Buck Showalter said, ''I think everybody knows where the finish line is, and we're not there.''

Pretty incredible. Wonder how much longer their luck can continue? It'd only be fitting that they lose the wildcard game by 1 run in extra innings

Gladdy, the O's may not be in the WILD CARD game, they still have a shot at being the A L EAST Champions. And why would it be "fitting" to lose an extra inning game ? They currently have a very long streak of extra inning game wins. The Tigers are lucky to be in the A L Central, they'd have been in 4th place in the A L EAST.

One change that needs to be made in MLB playoffs - the WILD CARD games should be played by the two teams in each league (that make playoffs) with the worst W-L records (no matter if the won a division or not).

The main items Im looking to trade for are
        Baseball HOFers Autos I need
        Orioles Autos I need
        Baseball HOFers GU I need
        Orioles GU I need

Sure, they might be, and if they do, that'll be great for Orioles fans, but they're playing a very good Rays team (who as of tonight, needs to win to have any chance at the playoffs), while New York is playing a Red Sox team that is fielding a double-a lineup.

The Tigers are lucky they play in the AL Central this year though, but it's not their fault they play in the AL Central, and besides, every team needs some form of luck, such as winning 15 straight extra inning games.

            Rodney,
            congrats on the O's buddy.

Since it looks like the White Sox will not be getting into the playoffs unless Detroit loses their last 3 and the Sox win their last 3 (doubt this will happen with the way they have been playing) lol.... I will be cheering on the O's.
Still collecting Frank Thomas in any uni and HoFer G/U & Auto's.

I do not trade nor buy at "eBay values", unless a card is so rare that it is unlisted.
