Surprised the Rays of all teams would give Peralta the contract, especially considering how cheap they are.
The Rays have agreed to a new contract with free agent reliever Joel Peralta, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The deal is worth $6MM over two years with a $2.5MM option for 2015, Topkin reports. The contract, which is pending a physical, will pay Peralta $3MM per season in 2013-14.
