  • Mets & David Wright Agree to a Contract Extension

Mets Extend David Wright: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

The Mets and David Wright have agreed to the largest contract in franchise history, according to WFAN's Ed Coleman. Coleman says it's seven years and $122MM in new money, which can be considered an eight-year, $138MM deal if the value of Wright's previously-exercised 2013 club option is included.

Not worth the money in my opinion.

Bad contract signing by Mets. Did they not learn that giving money like this never turns out good for the team (Beltran, Bay, Johan, Pedro).

In regard to the player, and the amount of money, the Mets made a good move to keep David Wright as a backbone for their team. So far as what teams pay players today, ALL MLB players are OVER PAID. In comparison to the money and player, the Mets made a good move. He is good, both offensively and defensible, and basically dependable.
