    Two AL West rivals have agreed to exchange prominent players in a deal that will address major needs for both clubs. The Mariners and Angels have agreed to a trade that will send Kendrys Morales to Seattle for left-hander Jason Vargas, the Mariners announced.

    It was a good deal for both. Vargas has had some great games, with the Angels lineup should be a 20 game winner.

      They wanted an "inning eater" for a pitcher. Is this the equivalent of having a quarterback who is a "game manager"?

          Good trade for both sides considering Kendry's always worrisome health, but surprising to see division rivals trade with one another. A few seasons ago, before he broke his leg, they probably could have traded Kendry for almost anyone. Too bad they couldnt get Dickey or some high caliber pitcher for him instead.
