Frank Thomas called it a career and official retired today. He is eligible for the MLB Hall of Fame in 2014. The Big Hurt played for the Chicago White Sox, Oakland Athletics, and Toronto Blue Jays. He last played with Oakland in 2008. Thomas ended his 19 year career with a .301 batting average, 521 home runs, and 1704 rbis. Along with Ken Griffey Jr, Frank Thomas was one of only two baseball players that I collected in the early 90s. Thomas is definitely a first ballot Hall of Famer in my opinion.

Is it still called "retire" if noone wants you to play for them? If that is the case... I hearby send in my retirement papers to the NBA. As many of you may or may not know, in 2002 at the ripe age of 32.5 yrs, with no previous college experience, I had declared myself as an early entry candidate into the NBA draft. A mere 9 years and zero games later, I am submitting my retirement papers in hopes someone can use my salary slot as a trade chip before the upcoming trade deadline.
