  • A Most Difficult Experience

Nice read on the breakdown of the voting process by an actual voter. Whats your guys take on the whole Peds and placement within the HOF?

Jayson Stark's MLB Hall of Fame ballot - ESPN

Somewhere out there, I'm sure there's somebody in our beautiful land who has this 2013 Hall of Fame ballot fiasco all figured out.

Somebody who knows exactly what to make of Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens. … Who knows precisely where to draw the line on Jack Morris and Curt Schilling. … Who knows, specifically, which stars of the '90s took which PEDs and which of those stars stayed as clean and pure as Bambi and Minnie Mouse.

All I can say is: That somebody isn't me.

And it isn't any other voter I know.

The problem with Bonds and Clemens was that they were HOF'ers before they"did" it. The voters need to remember those seasons. The problem is that the numbers got padded bigtime. Another thing is the with Bonds steriods doesn't improve hand eye coordination. Also who knows what was in all those hotdogs that Ruth ate?

Bonds was onto them before "those seasons". Look at his cards/pictures when he was a Pirate, and then a Giant. He looks considerably different, and most was probably due the steroids. With no doubt he was on them when he hit 73 in a season. But what's worse, in my opinion, is his denying it. Pete Rose denied his gambling on his team while still in MLB, and it took him 20 years before he admitted he'd done it. If he'd have admitted it immediately he'd probably of made the HOF by now. If Bonds, Clemens, and others who are in question concerning these things don't come forward soon they may never have much of a chance making it into the HOF (unless they make a new wing for drug users and liars).

If there is anyone who's not in the HOF that should be there it's "Shoeless" Joe Jackson. How in the world could he have been in on the "Black Sox Scandal" and hit .375 in that World Series, and not have any fielding problems ??? And he is the third GREATEST hitter of ALL TIME (behind only Cobb and Hornsby). He should get in long before any of todays candidates that are in question.
