United States can't beat ??????? in classic?

How in the world does the United States Lose in the 2013 Classic?? Answer they get paid to much dang money and they are scared they will get hurt and lose a little money. That is just how i feel about the situation. Don't get me wrong i Love the sport of Baseball, and when i played you gave it 110% and then if you lost you shook your competitor's hand and told them good game... And then it was time to regroup and look over the book for avg. err. and era. I had great coach's and if you were not up to par then you would ride the pine until you got your head right. When our coach seen the look in your eye that you were ready, then you got another shot. I had to sit out 1 time in my 16 years and it ate my heart out because of a couple bad hops in the infield, I played 2nd base but it was'nt the bad hops, if i would have been squared up with the ball it could and i wish it would have hit me to keep it in front of me. We need more player's here in the US to play ball hard.. We are suppose to be the best in the country.... Don't look like it now??? God Bless America... Hustle MLB teams do what you can do and do it your best.... Don't leave nothing on the field...

Great story and all, BUT, you may be forgetting the fact that nearly every WBC team has major leaguers on it, the same players you say make too much dang money. You're implying that the US isn't giving their all because they are rich but if you want your opinion to be taken seriously, you're going to need to provide proof of when the US dogged it on the field.

USA is suppose to have the best baseball teams in the world.. IF we can not win a Classic tournament then the results speak for them selves. And i aint being smart or nothing at all but when i read the peurto rico beat USA come on that is ridiculous... But it is just spring but they are suppose to be true proffessionals. It was just something burning in my head and had to get it out. If i offended anyone well play ball or if it is a fan then you should know what i am talking about. Great Sport Love The Game..

While its true the the US MLB is "the big time" there are a number of players that are coming from other countries to the US to play ball. When the WBC comes around these players will play for their home country. For example:
Miguel Cabrera played for Venezuela
Hanley Ramirez, Robinson Cano, and Jose Reyes played for the Dominican Republic
Adrian Gonzalez played for Mexico
Carlos Beltran and Yadier Molina played for Puerto Rico

I don't necessarily think players were intentionally slacking.. However, teams invest big money in their players and they don't want them hurt. Thats why there are some strict rules limiting pitcher count and other such things in the WBC.

It would've been nice if the real star pitchers from the US would've been in the tourney instead of having to rely on guys like Derek Holland, RA Dickey, etc. Verlander/Price/Kershaw would pretty much lock the US into at least the WBC title game instead of going out early every year. No one's hitting those guys enough to win two straight games.
