    Mets sign outfielder Rick Ankiel

    ST. LOUIS -- The New York Mets signed outfielder Rick Ankiel and started him in center field against the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday night.

      Ankiel is as good outfielder as most; has a really strong and accurate throwing arm. He has power and has shown it in the past; just didn't do too well with the Astros...but then again, who has?
