Justin Verlander is no longer perfect in W-L against the "Birds". J J Hardy & Adam Jones took him deep. J J had a two run HR & Adam a three run HR off Verlander. And Johnson saved the game by getting Cabrera to hit into a game ending Double Play. Verlander is now 8-1 against the "Birds".

When you look at his career stats he is, at present, one of the top, if not the best, pitchers in MLB. Usually, I like to see him do well (he went to ODU, where I got two degrees from, and he's from Va.) except when he pitches against the "Birds". Glad to see that they finally beat him.
And whisker.... - what does "Red Sox are better" have to do with the O's beating Verlander/Tigers? If you're saying that about the Red Sox vs. "Birds" because the Red Sox are in 1st in the A L East, yes for now they lead the division. However, last week the "Birds" definitely were "better" than the Red Sox when they BEAT them 3 out of four. So far, for '13, the "Birds" are out playing the "Sox" when they go head to head. I agree that Verlander is one of the best pitchers, if not the best, in baseball. I can see why a fan of a team that finally beats him would be happy. But, I fail to see what the Indians and Red Sox have to do with this. I also don't understand when the media harps on how one team has been dominant over another team in the past. It has absolutely nothing to do with how those teams match up now.Comment
