Hey All,
I know a few of you on here, and have been trading for a while on here (on and off). However I have a few problems:
1. I'm in Canada
2. I collect baseball (and there's not many Canadian baseball traders around)
3. USPS is too expensive for my US traders to ship to me and its harder for them to justify the cost of trading with someone in Canada (and I don't blame them).
I'm trying to come up a solution so that I can continue with the hobby that I love. I've got a couple of idea's but I was wanting to run it by people here first to see what they thought, or if they have other solutions that I have thought of yet.
1. Skewing the trade in favor of the US trader. I generally trade by BV, so maybe offsetting the trade to help offset the cost of the higher shipping.
2. Using a 3rd party service that offers me a US postal address. There's a few of these around, and most of them require that I go across the border (I live in Vancouver so I'm pretty close) to pick up my items. I found a service today however that would re-ship the items to me (even allowing me to bundle several packages together in one to save on shipping). It's called ShipIto (http://www.shipito.com/) This service would be a higher expense to myself but I think it would be worth it to me.
3. Simply send my traders the difference in the shipping price. However this seems like it could be problematic, so I would prefer to avoid this one.
I'm definitely leaning towards option 2, but would like to hear from others what you think. Has anyone used any of these 3rd party US address services? If I go with option 1 how far would I need to skew the trade to be fair?
I would value any input anyone has!
Cheers,
Tim
