Mauer Concerned about Winning; Not Money

Pioneer Press - Joe Mauer would not say if he would return to the Twins, the New York Times reported today. With a laugh, Mauer did say he was "not really" interested in being the top-paid player in baseball.

"Just having the chance to win would be important to me," he said. "I've put myself in a pretty good position that, wherever I end up, I think the pay's going to be pretty nice. I'm more worried about trying to be on winning teams."

Uh oh, looks like he'll go to a championship contender and not expect to cost that much money.

Move V-Mart to 1st and Youk to 3rd, get rid of Lowell, and put Mauer at catcher.. That would a awesome!

He ain't leaving Minnesota - it's all talk right now anyway - plus, he was born, raised, went to school, etc, etc, etc, in the Twin Cities...plus, the Twins are always in the unt for the post season...he'll remain a Twin.
