  • After the first month of the season

Here are some individual and team leaders, and my opinion on suprises/dissapointments

    Individual leaders
    Home Runs- Paul Konerko 11
    RBIs- Miguel Cabrera 25
    Batting Average- Robinson Cano .400
    Runs scored- Evan Longoria 22
    Wins- Ubaldo Jiminez 5
    Strikeouts- Tim Lincecum 43
    ERA- Mike Pelfrey 0.69
    Saves- Matt Capps 10

    Team Leaders
Runs Scored- Tampa Bay Rays 144
    Hits- Detroit Tigers 236
    HRs- Toronto Blue Jays 35
Batting Average- Detroit Tigers/Kansas City Royals .282
    OBP- Detroit Tigers .364
    Wins- Tampa Bay Rays 17
    Losses- Baltimore Orioles 18
Team ERA- St. Louis Cardinals 2.65
Starters ERA- San Francisco Giants 2.64
    Bullpen ERA- Detroit Tigers 2.22

    Biggest Suprises
Austin Jackson- I for one thought he wouldnt amount to much and he still may not but after 1 month he was third in the majors in batting average at .364 and has done an awesome job at the leadoff position

Mike Pelfrey- 4-0 with an ERA under 1, just shocking to me to see him pitch that well

Barry Zito- Its only suprising because he's been bad for so long..

Detroit Tigers bullpen- seriously who saw it coming that'd they do so well, the Jose Valverde, Joel Zumaya, Phil Coke, Fu Te Ni and Ryan Perry have really all pitched outstanding thus far

    Biggest Dissapointments
LA Dodgers- I for one didnt see them in last place, their pitching has really hurt them though which has contributed to their struggles

Rick Porcello- after a dominating spring, everyone in Detroit expected big things, but with an ERA of 8, he has struggled massively lately despite a 2-2 record

Baltimore Orioles- sorry but its an inside joke
