  • Lakers Dominate The Cavaliers

Lakers win by 55 points. Yes, 55 points.

Last time the Lakers won by more than 50 points was in 1972. Lakers set a record for lowest points allowed up in a game.

The Lakers 28th win of the season. They are now in 2nd place only behind the San Antonio Spurs.

Cavaliers (8-30) have the worst record in the NBA.

Cavaliers started 3-for-15 from the field and trailed by 15 points after the 1st quarter. They couldn't find their offense tonight while the Lakers were making almost everything.

Lakers had too much size with Gasol, Bynum and Odom. The Cavs didn't have anything to match-up with them. Anderson Varejao is out for the year and that hurt the Cavs inside.

The Lakers extended their 32 point halftime lead to 51 points when Shannon Brown hit a half-court shot to end the 3rd quarter. It was that kind of night for the Lake Show.

All of the starters had double digit points. Andrew Bynum and Ron Artest lead the team in scoring with 15 points each.

With 6 minutes left in the game, Phil Jackson put in the bench including Derrick Character, Devin Ebanks, and Joe Smith. Ebanks should be getting more minutes now that Matt Barnes is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Next Game: Wednesday, Jan. 12 7:30 PST @ Golden State Warriors

    Key Numbers:
    56 points, largest Laker lead
32 point lead for Lakers at halftime
    14 rebounds for Pau Gasol
    8 assists for Kobe Bryant
    5 blocks for Andrew Bynum
2 first half points for Kobe Bryant

Box Score: Lakers 112 Cavaliers 57

Complete domination tonight. The team played great defense for all 4 quarters. The behind the back pass by Kobe to Odom was amazing. Shannon hitting a half court three as the third quarter ended was spectacular.
