  • Raptors buy out contract of Stojakovic (AP)

    The Toronto Raptors have completed a buyout of Peja Stojakovic's contract, making the former All-star forward a free agent. Stojakovic was acquired from New Orleans in November and played just two games for the Raptors before being sidelined with a knee injury. The Raptors had acknowledged after the deal that they would consider a buyout if they were unable to trade him.

    Reports are saying that Peja will sign with the Mavericks. I dont think he will play that much on the Mavericks, but at least he will be on a playoff team.

      peja was a very good player for a very long time, but his usefulness to a team at the price he is going to command just isnt there any more- of course, the nba is all about giving huge contracts to middle level players, so he should be fine for years to come still

          Mavericks add sharpshooter Stojakovic (AP)

          The Dallas Mavericks have added sharpshooter Peja Stojakovic. Stojakovic was waived Thursday by Toronto. He's played only eight games this season with the Raptors and New Orleans Hornets because of knee problems. Dallas is hoping Stojakovic -- who has averaged 17.2 points per game over his career -- can replace some of the scoring punch lost when Caron Butler went down with a season-ending...
