  • McDyess Tips Spurs Past Lakers

Heading into this game, the Lakers were 1-5 against Top 5 teams this season. They already lost to the Spurs earlier this season.

It was an important game for the Lakers since they haven't been showing up to the big games.

Kobe ended the night one rebound short of a triple-double. Andrew Bynum returned to the starting lineup and posted a double-double. He also added 6 assists.

It was a back and forth game the entire night.

Pau Gasol hit 2 clutch free throws with 22 seconds left to give the Lakers a 88-87 lead.

On the final possession, Ginobli missed a wide-open 3 but the Spurs pulled down the rebound. Parker missed a 6-footer but Artest couldn't pull down the rebound and let the ball go out of bounds.

Tim Duncan tried to hit a fade away over Gasol but it was too strong. Antonio McDyess wasn't blocked out and tipped in the rebound as time expired to give the Spurs the one point victory.

Tough loss for the Lakers and expect more doubt from the critics after this loss.

They need to get their act together. I'm tired of hearing that they are waiting for the playoffs to turn it up.

Even though they loss, they did play a good game tonight. I have no problems with them losing to good teams, especially when it was this close. I get pissed off when they lose to bad teams by a lot. They will get their act together soon.
