Lakers Win To Split Season Series Against Grizzlies

The Lakers & Grizzlies split the season series at 2 wins each. Last time these two teams played each other, the Grizzlies embarrassed the Lakers at Staples Center.

The last three times the Lakers went into Memphis the game was decided by 2 points or fewer.

The first quarter favored the Grizzlies and the Lakers gave up too many points. Grizzlies led 29-26 after the first.

Kobe stepped up in the 2nd quarter. He had 10 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists at the half. Lakers took a 50-45 lead into the half.

It was a very sloppy 2nd half for the Lakers. They weren't hitting their free throws and turned the ball over way too much. The Grizzlies didn't do much to help themselves. Rudy Gay picked up a technical Lakers lead 70-65 after the third.

The fourth quarter was the opposite of the first 3 quarters. Lakers played defense and lead to a lot of forced turnovers. Lamar Odom and Ron Artest led the way. They extended the Lakers lead to 13 points and put the game away with a little more than 4 minutes to play.

There were 6 different Lakers with at least 10 points.

Lakers have won the first 2 games of their 7 game road trip.
