  • Carmelo Anthony To The Lakers Not Happening

    The reports are that Jim Buss rejected the trade that would send Andrew Bynum to the Denver Nuggets in return for Carmelo Anthony. {Link}

    I'm happy they said no. It's hard to replace height in the NBA. It's one of the most important things to have on a championship caliber team.

    This is a trade I would be okay with if the Lakers wanted to give up Bynum:

    I know the Nuggets wouldn't want Artest/Walton, but if they there was a 3rd team involved they could add draft picks for the Nuggets.

    Bynum for Melo is probably the best deal Denver will get. Knowing them, they probably wanted Bynum, Caracter, Ebanks, Shannon, and Joe Smith (expiring contracts) and for us to take back Al Harrington.

    If it was Bynum, Artest, and Walton for Melo and Nene, I would do that trade. Even if they wanted to take back Blake and give us Chauncey, I would do that too.

      Lakers would need to get a center if trading Bynum, period. They won't beat Boston with Odom/Gasol being their main 2 big men.

        Exactly... Can't give up Bynum for a SF when we got Artest, Barnes, Walton already there
