  • Rockets assign C Thabeet to D-League (AP)

The Houston Rockets have assigned center Hasheem Thabeet to their developmental league affiliate in Rio Grande Valley. The 7-foot-3 Thabeet has played in only two games since the Rockets acquired him from Memphis in the deadline deal that sent Shane Battier to the Grizzlies. Thabeet averaged 1.2 points and 1.7 rebounds in 45 games with Memphis this season.

      SAD STATS

IF you cant get playing time with MEMPHIS.... the D-League is THE place for you

To be fair Memphis is 38-32 right now and the 8 seed in the West.

Yea, but even last year when they were 40-42

he averaged 3.1 pts a game in 68 games which is still awful for a #2 overall pick

plus he was a 4th option behind

Marc Gasol (11.6ppg in 32 minutes per game) 48th pick overall
Steven Hunter (2.5ppg in 7.5 minutes per game) 15th pick overall
Hamed Haddadi (1.1ppg in 3.4 minutes per game) UNDRAFTED

for a #2 pick... he is AWFUL and that shows you how BAD he is

Of course its bad, what I was addressing was with saying its bad he couldnt get playing time with Memphis. They're not amazing but over .500 and the #8 seed currently in the West. Its not like they're the Raptors or Twolves lol

LOL I like that Memphis is actually doing something now... when they got rid of Pau Gasol it's like they werent even trying

this kid was just NOT "trained" or groomed well at all for the NBA game

Memphis have made some really bad draft picks in the past: Thabeet, Daniels, Reeves, Swift.

they also drafted Steve Francis but he "refused" to paly with them so he went to the Rockets via trade

Battier, Francis, and Bibby were solid picks in general even though they may have traded them. But I mean when it comes to drafting a player, they dont have the best track record.

yea had they KEPT some players... they would have been good

                        Battier
                        Pau Gasol
                        Steve Francis
                        Mike Bibby

                        not a bad start lol

heck Battier and Gasol in the same draft year !

Dont forget about Rahim too. And they did get Rudy Gay for Shane Battier on draft night. The Love for Mayo draft night trade is sort of a wash, but Love is having a breakout year this season.

Don't forget they traded the rights to the number 2 pick of the 2003-04 draft, the Pistons just failed to capitalize on it
