  • Greg Oden Out For The Season

The Portland Trailblazers have lost Greg Oden for the rest of the season after he fractured his left knee cap in tonight's game. This injury is a huge set back for Oden who was showing signs of improvement this season. He also missed his whole rookie season in 07-08.

I have a Bowman Chrome rookie auto, should I be looking to move it now or has that ship sailed?

In my opinion I would. I have noticed in the last 17 years of collecting, anytime a major player gets hurt for the majority of the season, there cards take a huge hit. Some recent examples of players who went down in the past year in Beckett due to injuries are Greg Oden, Yao Ming, Andrew Bynum, Amare Stoudemire, Gilbert Arenas, and Elton Brand. Past players include Anfernee Hardaway and Grant Hill.

To be fair, Andrew Bynum got hurt for 2 consecutive seasons. He came back both times stronger and better than ever. Amare Stoudemire lost basically 2 whole seasons to an injury, and is still in his All Star form. So Oden can get a third and final crack at it before we label him a bust.

Bynum is a Laker and Oden is a Blazer

Anyways I agree, give him one more shot before labelling him a bust. Wasn't there another Blazers big man who was oft-injured and later turned out to be a success?
