  • Jazz Trade Maynor and Harpring To Thunder

The Utah Jazz have traded Eric Maynor and Matt Harpring to the Oklahoma City Thunder for the rights to 2002 2nd Round Draft Pick Peter Fehse.

This was nothing more than a salary dump by Utah. Trading Maynor was a surprise since he is a rookie who the Jazz seemed to be very high on. Harpring is an expiring contract and will not play this year due to injuries. Fehse is playing in Germany and will not be joining the NBA anytime soon.

Actually it is management's fault. Even though Boozer didnt opt out of his contract, Utah had offers of expiring contracts for Boozer. If they bought those people out, they wouldnt get hit with that luxury tax amount since it is calculated by the total salary at the end of the regular season.
