    Knicks sign J.R. Smith, waive Balkman - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

    I thought he was going to Clippers.

    The New York Knicks signed J.R. Smith on Friday, hoping his 3-point shooting can improve one of their biggest weaknesses.

    To make room on the roster, the Knicks waived forward Renaldo Balkman.

          Again, another nice fit.....somewhat inconsistent player, but he has a lot to offer to a potential playoff team.

                    dont think its about they money, im sure he coulda got more elsewhere. He lives 5 mins from me in jersey, being local probably had a bit to do with it. He still has chandler and melo in ny too

                      I know he is glad to get out of China at least and be close to home was a good fix for him hopefully
