The Lakers will open up their 2012 Playoff campaign against the Denver Nuggets at STAPLES Center on Sunday April 29th at 12:30pm PT (ABC). Game 2 will take place in Los Angeles Tuesday night before the series shifts to Denver for games 3 and 4 on Friday and Sunday respectively.

Metta World Peace is suspended for 6 games. He's eligible to return in game 7 if they make it that far. If the Lakers advance to the next round, he'll be eligible to return in that series. Kobe Bryant sat out the final game of the season and missed a couple of games in April. He should be well rested for the series.

Bynum's triple-double leads Lakers past Nuggets - Yahoo! Sports

Andrew Bynum with a triple double with 10 blocks! Pau Gasol was 2 rebounds and 2 assists shy of another triple double. Devin Ebanks shot 5-6 from the field and finished with 12 points while starting for the suspended Ron Artest. And OMG Jordan Hill was a beast. 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Very good playoff start for the Lakers.

A day before Andrew Bynum produced one of the most eye-popping defensive performances in NBA playoff history, he spoke up to his Lakers teammates about the importance of getting off to a good start in their championship quest.

With an NBA record-tying 10 blocked shots, the 7-foot All-Star center put the Lakers on the good foot - and the Denver Nuggets on their heels.

Kobe Bryant scored 31 points, Bynum posted the Lakers' first playoff triple-double in 21 years, and Los Angeles thoroughly controlled the tempo in a playoff-opening 103-88 victory Sunday.
