then how come they didn't win? lol You can't make the case they were the better team when they lost 4/7 games

The Pistons beat the Lakers with a TON less talent

It was almost as bad when the Cardinals beat the Tigers back in 06

Acutally, in both series the losing team only won 1 game (game 2)

Pistons were the better team that year against the Lakers. I have to agree with Dan, if the Pistons had Carmelo, they would have beaten the Spurs and won another title. Up until they lost Ben Wallace to the Bulls, the Pistons were always one of the favorites to go to the Finals and win. The one thing they needed was another major scorer on their team, something that Carmelo is.

I dont understand what your saying the Pistons DID beat LA, they won 4-1, and thats correct, the Pistons didnt have the best players in the game, but they played the complete opposite of LA.

LA were wanting there shots, the Pistons shared the ball and werent about who scored the most, it varied night to night. Pistons clearly were the better team, talent is irrelevant, the Pistons had plenty of it, its not like it was a 7 game series fluke, they took 4 of 5 and this was one of 6 ECF appearances although 1 title, they still got close every year

The lakers were more talented but the Pistons had a much better strategy and they excecuted it.

I also think the Lakers were a little over confident while the Pistons played with a chip on there shoulder

Not here to argue the fact, but talent is irrelevant, both teams were filled with talent and the Pistons bench play was flat out awesome in that postseason

The Pistons beat the Lakers they proved that season they were the better team.

no question about it. The Pistons were on a mission and they completed it
