Magic add another forward, agree to deal with Al-Farouq Aminu
Al-Farouq Aminu sure does seem to fit the Jeff Weltman/John Hammond mold.
A defensive-minded power forward with a lengthy wingspan and some range. Aminu, who spent the last four seasons with the Portland Trailblazers, will now join a crowded Orlando frontcourt after agreeing to a three-year, $29 million deal with the Magic.
The 28-year-old Aminu was drafted with the eighth overall pick in the 2010 by the Los Angeles Clippers. Last season as a starter for the Western Conference runner-up Blazers, he averaged 9.4 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists last season while shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from three.
