  • Lakers Sign Carlos Boozer To 1 Year $3.25 Million

No surprise here. Hope the Lakers make a bid on him. They dont have anyone on their roster. LOL!

The Chicago Bulls have used their amnesty provision upon Carlos Boozer.

Boozer was signed by the Bulls in 2010 as a free agent.

Boozer was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers and then signed with the Utah Jazz as a free agent in 2004.

Carlos Boozer to join Los Angeles Lakers - ESPN Los Angeles

Well I was right. LOL! Boozer plays no defense, but hopefully he can still score and attempts to defend. Should be good mentor for Randle.

The Los Angeles Lakers have acquired Carlos Boozer on amnesty waivers, sources told ESPN.com.

ESPN's Marc Stein has learned that the Lakers won the Boozer auction with a blind bid of $3.25 million.

That means Chicago must pay the remaining $13.6 million that Boozer is owed in 2014-15 on the final year of his current contract. Releasing Boozer via the amnesty clause removes that $13.6 million from Chicago's books for salary-cap and luxury-tax purposes, but the Bulls must still pay him the money he's owed.

There were nine teams with cap space that were able to make a blind bid to pick up a portion of Boozer's $16.8 million deal. The Lakers, by virtue of making the largest bid, were awarded Boozer by making the largest bid.

Boozer was released by the Chicago Bulls earlier this week as they made room to sign free agents Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic.

The Lakers have added two power forwards in the past 24 hours, agreeing on a two-year, $2 million deal with free agent Ed Davis on Wednesday. They also recently signed big man Jordan Hill to a two-year, $18 million deal. Center Robert Sacre is also on the roster.

Boozer averaged 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds in 76 games for the Bulls last season. He played just 28.2 minutes per game as coach Tom Thibodeau often didn't play him in the fourth quarter.
