  • Panthers | Cam Newton's pay to be down significantly

Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton is likely to receive a contract in the range of five years and $35 million with the new rookie payscale in the new collective bargaining agreement. In the old CBA, St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford, the No. 1 pick of the 2010 draft, received six years and $78 million.

I think this is good will help out for the Jamarcus Russell, Alex Smith,Leafs out there. To much money is wasted on these rookie QBs who have not produced yet. I am glad to see this!!!

Well, considering Cam Newton will be the next JaMarcus Russell, at least the Panthers will 'only' waste $35 million on him instead of $80M.
