Wow - Al Davis just reported dead

Raiders owner Al Davis, whose legend began 60 years ago as an assistant coach with the Chargers and included a 1992 Hall of Fame induction in Canton, has died at 82.

The team's website released the news Saturday morning, posting a simple tribute with his name in large silver letters above "July 4, 1929-October 8, 2011."

No cause of death has been released.

Sad news indeed... RIP Mr. Davis.

A true pioneer of the the NFL. He was one of the reasons this league we all love became successful... RIP Mr Davis

He will be missed RIP!

I collect mainly football these days, Maurice Jones Drew, Joe Flacco, Matt Forte, DeMarco Murray, Patrick Willis, Emmitt Smith and 1974 Topps. Baseball Derek Jeter. Basketball Kevin Garnett. Non Sports James Bond, Star Wars, Tomb Raider.
