  • Should Colts Take Luck, Keep Peyton, Both or Neither?

Thought it'd be nice to get some debate going on what the Colts should do.
    1. Take Luck and Get Rid of Peyton
    2. Trade Luck/#1 Pick and Keep Peyton
    3. Take Luck AND Keep Peyton
    4. Do Something Else

    What does everyone think?

    Draft Luck, trade Manning.

Peyton if completely healthy only has a few really good seasons in him, even if Luck doesn't turn out to be good, I don't see the Colts winning another Super Bowl with Manning anyways

Draft Luck, keep Manning. Let Luck learn behind a HOF'er just like the Packers did with Rodgers/Favre.

Or trade Peyton to Cleveland...then we'll REALLY see just how good he is.

They will have to decide before the draft if they are keeping Manning. He has some money coming to him soon. From what I read, if they pay him, he stays, if they don't he doesn't.

I don't see how they can keep Luck and Manning. If Manning recovers, there's no telling how long he can be effective. It could be 5+ years or it could be 1. They can't let Luck sit on the bench for 5 years.

I think they should take the king's ransom for Manning and build around Luck.

Will Manning even be able to play? I believe the injury was similar to the one that Chris Spielman had years ago. Every so often, he would have temporary paralysis and doctors told him eventually he wouldn't get back up, after a big hit. I'm sure Manning wants to play, but at this point nobody knows if it's even possible. Trading a guy like him, based on pure talent, is a great idea. Teams would get a lot of talent in return. However, trading a guy who will be in his late 30's, who will make $28 million dollars next season and just had multiple neck fusions is no sure thing. I think the Colts should try to trade him, if he is healthy, but expecting that they get normal, market value is ridiculous.

They should definitely take Luck and keep Payton. That is hard for me to say as a dolphins fan but its the smart thing to do. If you don't believe me look at Rogers and Favre. Obviously they need a backup plan for when Manning goes down again.

Draft Luck and dump Peyton. It would be too much salary to have both. Manning's injury was pretty serious and who knows how long he can play. There is some risk involved drafting Luck but I think it's a higher risk playing Manning.

The Favre/Rodgers comparison seems logical. Take Luck and let him study under Manning.
